This standard establishes technical performance metrics and associated target values for consumer products which provide personal sound amplification and/or audio enhancement to a user. Products shall meet the stated requirements to be considered as compliant to this standard. Wearable sound amplification may be a single function within a larger set of device capabilities.
ANSI-CTA-2051-A, Wearable Sound Amplifier Performance Criteria replaces ANSI/CTA-2051, Personal Sound Amplification Performance Criteria. The performance requirements are consistent amongst the two standards. For any questions, please contact standards@cta.tech.
