LON® over IP - Open Communication in Building Automation, Controls and Building Management — Control Network Protocol — Part 7: Communication via Internet Protocol (ANSI/CTA-709.7)

LonWorks® is a platform for building a network of devices that control things in a building. The things in the network might be sensors (motion detectors, thermometers, etc.), actuators (switches, motors, etc.), or more complex devices that collect data, analyze it, and perform control functions. The complete LonWorks system is described in suite of standards that, together, describe the format of the signals travelling between the devices on the network. ANSI/CTA-709.7 is one of these standards. It describes how to use Internet Protocol (the same protocol used by devices throughout the internet) as the communication protocol in a LonWorks network.
